Dorita

Dora lives and works in a public school deep in the Calchaquí Valleys, in the province of Tucumán (Argentina). She cooks every day; in the morning, in the afternoon and at night. Every meal she prepares is made with all her love. Her dishes bring with them the dedication of someone who cooks home-cooked food. Dorita’s hands are unique. The delicacy with which she makes her preparations is a reflection of the love and care she gives to these children. The aromas and flavors of Dorita’s cooking will remain in the memory of these little beings for the rest of their lives. In their memory, Dorita will be that mysterious lady with the blue apron who cooked by the window at school. The old knife on the wooden board, the tin pot boiling on the wood fire, her smile and her good humor. These images will also remain forever in the minds, hearts and spirits of these children.
